Hurricane Helene: Resources Available to Lower Richland Residents in Need

Hurricane Helene: Resources Available to Lower Richland Residents in Need

9/28/2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Hurricane Helene: Resources Available for Lower Richland Residents in Need Hurricane Helene has caused significant damage and disruption to daily life in the Lower Richland community. In response, a coalition of local organizations—including the BLOW Foundation, Lower Richland Speaks, Representative Jermaine Johnson (SC District 52), Representative Robert Reese (SC District 70), and the NAACP Lower Richland Branch—has come together to assess community needs and provide essential assistance. To facilitate this process, the coalition has launched a survey for residents to report their needs, including requests for food and water, information on power outages, shelter for those in need, and support for children, the elderly, and healthcare services. The survey will also address needs such as tree removal and transportation. It is available via email and on the website lrspeaks.org. “This is all about neighbors helping neighbors,” said Representative Reese. “We urge everyone to check on their neighbors, family, and friends during this challenging time.” Residents are encouraged to participate in the survey to ensure that the community's needs are met effectively.
